Testimonies
To own a piece of art is special. The stories of people who come into contact with Matt Holton's work are here to share with you. From owners of the art, to people whom have seen Matt's work, the individual, and shared experience of the artwork by Matt Holton.
"...The painting is identical to the picture I gave (to) Matt. To the point of the shine on my dogs tongue, the reflection of my sons arm in his sunglasses, our self portrait."
-Sugar Von Tempsky
Before Cynthia, Jason, & T-Bone (right) was comissioned, Sugar purchased Illumination, a mirror giclee. It hangs in her living room. She had this to say this about the piece:
"This is the very first piece of artwork I ever bought. It makes me want to collect an entire hibiscus series."
Sugar has also helped promote Matt's work, and is a special friend to both Matt and Cristina. Thanks Sugar!
In addition to art hanging in peoples homes, Matt's work is also in a couple corporate spaces. The conference room at Alexander & Baldwin Properties (photos coming soon!) in Kahului, on Maui, Hawaii is one of those locations. Ken Nomura who at A&B in Kahului had this to say about Matt's display for sale:
"I really appreciate have(ing) Matt's work displayed in our large conference room. The pieces add color and class to the otherwise staid atmosphere of a corporate office space."
"I appreciate the display of Matt's paintings within our office as it gives my mind relief from some of the daily tasks and challenges, if not for at least a brief moment. This is especially so with "Peach Blossom" in which Matt has amazingly captured the fine details and brings recollections of those trees in Upcountry Maui."-Jason Koga A&B Properties Land & Environmental Manager.
Click on the highlighted titles for Matt's Blogs about what is currently hanging at A&B: Peach Blossom (above), and Bonfire Orchid.
Yellow Hibiscus (left), and Wainapanapa Sunrise (right) are just a couple of pieces owned by Morgan & Jessica Gerdel.
Jessica had this to say about Matt's work:
"I am constantly impressed and amazed by Matt's new works--being his sister I have seen his artistic talents develop and grow. He is able to capture the delicacy of a blooming iris, the essence of a sunset--and the personality and character of his subjects. I will always be a collector of his works and look forward to his future creations!"

Raymond and Mary own several pieces of Matt's work.
Having the colors of the tropics in their home in the southwest reminds them of their ties to Maui.
After Jody's husband took some photographs of plumeria's she knew she had a commission painting project for Matt. The result, Jody's Plumeria's now hangs in their home in Pukalani. Jody has watched Matt's career from the beginning of his professional venture in Holton Gallery, and is a proud owner of a Holton original.
